Fuerteventura News Updates 2008 - Data released by the Spanish Ministry for Housing in May showed that property transactions with foreign buyers were still growing in the Canary Islands compared to a decline in mainland Spain. The hotel has apparently set aside several blocks of apartments for nude guests. - A Spanish ferry heading for Fuerteventura carrying more than 100 passengers ran aground and sank off the coast of Morocco on 25th April. The passengers, mostly from Spain and Morocco, were rescued and taken to safety. - Spanish air traffic figures released in April 2008 show Fuerteventura to have the fastest growing number of flights within the Canary Islands. This data includes both domestic and international flights. Binter Canarias accounts for 12% of the Spanish domestic market.
